Doris Lee (Willoughby) Hill

Doris Lee Willoughby Hill, of Red Springs went home to the Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the age of 89.   In hospice care for 6 weeks prior to her death, Doris died peacefully in her sleep.  She often proclaimed to her family and friends that she was not afraid of death as she was ready to go home to her Lord and Savior.

Mrs. Hill was born in Robeson County on October 27, 1928 to the late Grady Willoughby and Gussie Hannah Herring Willoughby.  Mrs. Hill was a homemaker as well as worked in the textile industry.  She was a passionate vegetable and flower gardener her entire life and shared her love for gardening with her husband, children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed the blooms in her garden each year and loved sharing bouquets of roses with those in the hospital and long-term care.  She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and always made sure she prepared everyone’s favorites.  She loved life, enjoyed travelling and always enjoyed time with her family and friends.   She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all she met.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Hill Allison (Charlie), daughter-in-law Wanda Brantley Hill (Raymond, deceased), Jeanie Hannah Hill (WJ, deceased) and sister Zilla Willoughby Brown, 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 17 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Aunt Doris.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Crystal Walter "CW" Hill, her son WJ Hill, son Raymond Hill and daughter Mary Lee Hill Wolf (Dick).

Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Wednesday July 18, 2018 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 East 4th Ave. Red Springs, NC 28377.

Memorial Service will be immediately following the visitation in Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Randy Locklear officiating.

Graveside Service will be immediately following the Memorial Service in Alloway Cemetery with Reverend Randy Locklear officiating.
