Mr. Michael Allen Chavis, 69, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 in Autumn Care of Raeford.

Michael was born in Robeson County on May 22, 1949 to the late Russell Allen Chavis and Helen Baker Chavis. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Michael Allen Britt, siblings, Tex Chavis, Tony Chavis, Joan Goodman and Judy McNeill.

Michael is survived by his companion, Joanna Sammons of Maxton; sons, Quentin Sammons and Bryan Sammons (Nikki) all of Maxton; 2 uncles, Dewey Howard and Danny Howard, both of Kinston; nephew, Russell Chavis of Red Springs; niece, Tina Maynard (Rodney) of Red Springs; 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many extended family members.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Monday, December 17, 2018 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 East 4th Ave.  Red Springs, NC 28377.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. following the visitation at the Funeral Home with Reverend’s Franklin Bartley and Joe Oldham officiating.

Burial will follow in Antioch Presbyterian Church in Red Springs.
