MAXTON - If we were in Laurinburg at Scotland Memorial Hospital Monday, October 12, outside the door of Pearl Johnson’s room, we may have heard her sing to the Lord. “Precious Lord take my hand, lead me on through this land, I am tired, I am weak, I am worn. Through the storms through the night lead me on to the light, Precious Lord take my hand lead me on.” At 10:30 in the evening the Lord answered her song and said, “Pearl, your mansion is ready, come and get your reward. With this Pearl Johnson left this world of pain and strife to be forever with her God and family members that have passed on before.
