Douglas McArthur Thornhill

Mr. Douglas McArthur Thornhill, 77, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Dillon, SC surrounded by his family.

Doug was born in Rolling Fork, MS on March 3, 1943 to the late Charles Wesley and Dorothy Helton Thornhill. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked and retired from Goodyear as a Defects Analyst. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Scott Thornhill, siblings, Billy Thornhill, Jean Johnson, Linda Harris and Nancy Parkinson. Doug was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Thornhill of the home; daughters, Meredith Maxwell and husband Tommy of Lumberton, Keyna Humphrey and husband Robin of Red Springs, Tracey Thornhill and husband Robert of Raleigh; a son, Douglas Thornhill and wife Leigh Anne of Troutman; brother, Michael Thornhill, his wife Karyn and James Thornhill, all of Mississippi; 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday February 7, 2021 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 East 4th Ave Red Springs, NC 28377 Reverend James Blount with Reverend officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be private in Alloway Cemetery.
