Reverend Joseph McMillan, 65, went to his heavenly home Thursday, August 1, 2019 in Southeastern Hospice House.

Joseph was born in Robeson County on December 19, 1953, son to the late George and Isabelle Locklear McMillan. He worked in construction before retirement and preached and shared his love for Christ wherever he could. Rev. McMillan loved to play his washboard and sing gospel songs. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandchild, Megan McMillan and siblings, Malcolm McMillan, Daniel McMillan, William McMillan and Lulabelle Jacobs.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce of the home; a son, Jonathan McMillan of Lumberton; a daughter, Melissa Jai and husband AJ of Fayetteville; a brother, Johnny McMillan of Rennert; 5 sisters, Virginia Hammonds of Rennert, Leamae Todd and husband Benny of Rennert, Ila Reed and Rochelle L. Maynor of Lumberton; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of extended family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 100 Church St. Rennert, NC 28386.

Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Nicholas McNeill officiating.

Burial will follow in Hammonds Family Cemetery, 2535 Shannon Rd. Lumberton, NC 28360.
